Schema Therapy Systems provides International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST) certified training at Standard and Advanced level throughout the UK. Bespoke workshops,tailored to your and your organisations needs can be provided upon request.
Schema Therapy Systems also provides Schema Therapy supervision and personal therapy, specialising in addressing long standing psychological difficulties which are difficult to treat with first lines psychological therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Richard is a BACP Registered Psychotherapist (Senior Accredited)​ and ISST Advanced Certified Schema Therapist, Supervisor and Trainer. Richard has worked within Secondary Care Adult Mental Health services providing psychotherapy for over thirty years, including service development and research. ​He has extensive experience as a trainer including training on behalf of the European Commission, the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Bangor University and in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Schema Therapy as part of the North Wales Programme in Clinical Psychology. Richard trained in individual Schema Therapy with Dr Arnie Reed and Dr Chris Hayes and subsequently completed the Group Schema therapy training under Professor Joan Farrell and Ida Shaw. Richard is also trained in Couples Schema Therapy. He is an Advanced Certified Schema Therapist, Supervisor and Trainer and is a full member of the ISST. ​Richard has provided supervision for specialist long term clinical placements in Schema Therapy for Trainee Clinical Psychologists and has a private supervision practice. Richard practices as a Senior Psychotherapist in the NHS working in an Adult Mental Health Clinical Psychology services. He is trained in CBT, EMDR, DBT as well as in Schema Therapy. Richard specialises in working with complex presentations which are 'treatment resistant' including those with diagnoses such as Borderline Personality Disorder, Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Paranoid Personality Disorder and Complex Trauma.
Michelle is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. She has been working in the NHS for over 25 years in adult secondary care services with complex presentations including Assertive Outreach, Homeless Outreach and Community Inpatient. Currently, Michelle works in the NHS with Westminster Adult Community Mental Health Team and in the private setting. Michelle has predominantly worked with individuals who have histories of trauma and attachment disturbances presenting with personality related difficulties/disorders. Her interest in Schema Therapy came as a result of this approach offering a structured and containing intervention for both therapists and clients which integrated CBT and relational models of psychological functioning and disturbance from a developmental perspective. Prior to training Michelle worked as Social Worker in Child Protection after obtaining her Masters degree at Oxford University. Michelle is a full member of the ISST and is an Advanced Certified Schema Therapist and Certified Supervisor-Trainer .
